DOWN Working On Two Albums' Worth Of Material, Planning More Tours
July 30, 2006DOWN — the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist),bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA),guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR),and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) — is currently working on two albums' worth of material while planning a tour of the Pacific Rim and South America.
In a posting on the band's official forum, Rex writes, "Look for DOWN to tour the Pacific Rim, then South America while writing two records at one time. We got tons of acoustic stuff... So we're gonna do that, re-release the first album with me on bass, re-master 'Down II', and we still got the DOWN film to go... so lots of cool stuff about to happen."
As previously reported, DOWN filmed many of the shows on their recent European tour for an upcoming DVD. The band's sophomore album, "Down II", was released in March 2002 on Elektra Records. The band headlined the second stage at the 2002 Ozzfest.
